内容摘要:There are a few situations where it is possible to heuristically adopt an analogy between ants and fermions, i.e. the particles governed by Fermi-Dirac statistics, in order to describe the insects’ behaviour. I try to explore when this assumption seems reasonable. In particular, I discuss the use of logistic equation to describe ants and I consider an analogy with the harmonic oscillator equation to describe the oscillatory behaviour between foragers and not foragers. I use the damped oscillator equation in order to analyze the situations of decreasing oscillations; I refer a hypothesis about the driven harmonic oscillator, in order to describe possible events of resonance. Angular distribution of ant clusters (reported in literature) is very similar to a single slit pattern of the diffraction phenomenon of electrons as well; average number of ants belonging to a specific cluster/aggregation is described by a logistic function; joint distribution on the ground of ants can be analyzed through a probabilistic and conditioned description, given the attractiveness of trails due to their pheromonal concentration. I analyze the periodic behaviour within the context of game theory approach, in terms of group selection as well and, in particular, of Price/Lotka-Volterra/replicator equations on anthill’s fitness.
